I also like the patrons-entering-library and the program attendance
counts. We have many people who use the library for information bits
and bites and who don't necessarily check out materials. We also
offer almost 4,000 programs a year (including class visits) so
attendance is a good measure of how well we are reaching our public.
As for convincing the public to kick in $20 - $50 for library
services: In Pasadena almost 80% of our voters opted for a $20 per
home tax for library service. This tax covers about 18% of our
