Subject: Re: Pioneer 6-disk drives?
We have two Pioneer 6disk changers and neither has jammed in over two
years of use.
Ours are not used that heavily....but I think you might have some lemons.
According to Sheila W. Bankhead:
. We have 3 Pioneer 6-disk drives in the reference area. One of them is
. 'jammed' for the second time in six months. This drive is less than a year
. old. Another has jammed after about a year and a half of use. The third,
. which we have had for three years, has never jammed. The one which has
. broken down twice is the one we switch CD's in and out of about two or
. three times a day.The one which has not yet crashed seldom has disks
. switched manually. I would like some input from others--does the manual
. switching weaken the slots? They seem to be jamming by themselves, as we
. are extremely cautious to seat the disks properly when we switch them. Or,
. do we maybe have a 'lemon'? ...and, is there a more technically oriented
. list to which I should ask this question? Thanks a lot.
